What's with me? I feel like an ass for having gone down the tubes like I had with my last entry...can't really tell you to disregard my last entry since what has been seen....you know. Heh. I am finally beginning to understand my position creatively and accepting where I am at, slowly working my way back up again. Still havent found any success regarding my new Massage Therapy career; having issues with marketing. But I will find work, somehow. Thank god for my full-time job now!

I contemplated deleting my past entry as a way to start over, but perhaps its existence will sort of serve as a sign for me not to get so dramatically emo over myself ever again, so it is remaining where it is.

I've decided to post some of my rantings regarding my graphic novel series, Promised Ark. I updated my Livejournal with this as well, though I figured I'd eliminate the middle man and post it here as well.

--------------------------------------------------------------

I have been heavily developing my storyline for my graphic novel,” Promised Ark,” since my last update and such; a long hiatus between journal entries seems to be a mainstay trait for me lately, since I do tackle a lot of things at once.

My story involves themes inspired by Aesop’s Fables, the animal kingdom and parts of the Bible, mostly the Old Testament and the book of Revelation. Shamanistic and new age elements are also at play. The world will evolve through a means of plant life and magical-energetic technology known as Zalqum, which is inspired itself from Chakra, Aura and energy theories of the East. This will also figure into construction of buildings, civilizations, and even weaponry, giving it a plant like feel.

I am proud to say that my entire character roster has finally merged with the anthromorphic universe; I am utterly fascinated with animal-related religion and mythology. I am close to deciding however if they are capable of transforming into a temporary human-like form (Each imperfect, with say, their animal’s ears, tail or facial features remaining; full human transformation is seen as utterly divine.) although it is the goal of some religious and political figures to want to become human again.

Speaking of such, the history of my world involves humans a long time ago delving into the schools of thought regarding a mix of shamanism, new age and alternative energy theory; displeased by their deviation from God (Or possibly, the Shepherd or Sky Father or something like such.) right-wing religious figures find a way to control society by bringing religious events to fruition to make them ’believable.’ This group calls itself “Aebrelhim.” The group is run by four figures modeled after the Evangelists; an eagle, a bull, a lion and a last figure with the “face of a man.” (Characters with memories of this figure cannot remember his identity, for some reason, it brings them great pain.) Under the Evangelists, are 71 figures, similar to the Sanhedrin mentioned in the bible, who are God’s judges of sort, although in my world, they are the leaders of the divine’s field operatives on the physical world.

However, something goes wrong, and human energetic fields over time slowly merge with those of the animals they have begun to find fascination in, resulting in them becoming a new race entirely; the “Noans.” This affects the religious figures in Aebrelhim as well, merging them with 71 original animal deities, blotting away what little humanity that remains.

The world is consumed by chaos and is forced to begin again through an apocalyptic event called the “Gathering of the Flock,” and Aebrelhim spreads its influence to various worlds (Different planets, or realms within the current planet’s dimensions is yet to be established.) What is frightening however is that Aebrelhim has somehow figured out the means to bringing about the Gathering again, though it takes time and a lot of string-pulling. They have also mastered the use of various religious-spiritual weapons of mass destruction, including a purging agent known as S.A.L.T. Further down within this other world are a variation of Noans, also heavily influenced by their own pagan deities, and whom rely on a nature like energy source known as Zalqum.

Aebrelhim sets up shop here and attempts to subjugate the world. However, they don’t feel that this society is good enough for their standards, and after a period of time in which their teachings aren’t accepted fully, they prepare to initiate a Gathering and start anew. Members of the animalistic Sanhedrin council begin to have doubts about these purges, which begins with a jackal anthro character named Xeol. Xeol has always been a little displeased with Aebrelhim’s subjugation of the poor, but was nonetheless spearheaded into the group early as a child by his parents since he possessed skills as a great architect. Before the beginning of this Gathering, Xeol and his wife Cathra, along with a few others are excommunicated, and thus begin to try and save as many people as they can before the end comes. During the disaster, Xeol is separated from his allies, and is the last one standing atop a mountain as forces around threaten to consume him. However, the earth intervenes, and he is ’ possessed’ via Zalqum with the will of the Earth Mother, a major pagan deity he was always fascinated with. From here, Xeol begins to think that he is perhaps a prophet of the Earth’s will for mankind.

Years later Xeol is reunited with his former allies, with newfound powers; he and the rest of his allies come up with many ways throughout history of trying to preserve the world, namely through a mimicked spiritual-energetic signature known as “The Crown of Life,” which allows them eternal life not through immortality (Like their former divine allies.) but through reincarnation, something considered taboo by Aebrelhim because it denies people the chance to either go to heaven or hell when they die, like the great system of God declared.

Secondly, alternate bodies formulated by Zalqum are also developed, so that when someone without a Crown dies, a energetic net of sorts established in parts around the atmosphere may ’catch’ the soul and implant it into an artificial body, although this is unreliable.

Memory transfer is also a tertiary means of preservation of the world, allowing someone to retain their soul with fragmented memories of the person who was the contributor.

Nonetheless, the story begins in an era about a 1000 years later, in which the world is recovering from both a Cold War of sorts between the Saevian Republic, an anthromorphic version of a country similar to the United States, and the Laegonian Empire, a dynastic kingdom that switches emperors between seasons and is ruled by draconic Noans. On top of that, that conflict fueled a culture war within the Saevian Republic called the Apostean Rift, which was sort of like a more exaggerated version of the 60’s. Of sorts, it formulated two political groups against one another; the conservative Flock, who wanted to run the country akin to Aebrelhim, and the liberal Herd, who arose to resist the Flock and promise fair treatment to people of all religious backgrounds, ethnicities, sexual preferences and monetary classes that the Flock violently discriminated against. A global group like the United Nations called the World Body of All Nations, or W.B.A.N (For now, a temporary name.) had to be formulated to intervene to stop the religious warfare that the planet had gotten itself wrapped up in. They made efforts to stop the trafficking of people and weapons, and other means to begin wars.

The country is currently in the midst of an election, which occurs every 12 years (As opposed to four in our world; remember the tension of having a president in office that you didn’t like? Multiply that by four, and you have a heck of a crisis brewing!) between current Herd-aligned president Satroe Palchem, and Flock-aligned newcomer candidate Thaddeus Jonaethn Whitewing, a griffin Noan. Whitewing calls out Palchem on his preferences to religious freedom and multilateralism with other countries and W.B.A.N. Whitewing is, surprisingly, one of the Evangelists who was somehow cast down on earth away from the heaven he resided in, as he felt his intervention was needed to bring the world back into God’s realm. He is also seeking to destroy a supposed terrorist network called Daiyjal (But is it?).

His cronies are lined with right-wing Flock pundits and figures, including a racist anti-immigration figure named Blanick, a former witch doctor turned pastor named Deiyon, a fiery media censorship figure named Siemus, a blowhard kingpin of a talk-radio like communications network named Alber, a snooty female Flock author and pundit named Chastia, and Hieroph, who runs a PMC that manufactures religious weapons. Thaddeus also maintains a relationship with the Saevian Republic’s ally, the Zhelkhana Colonies, descendants of the original Aebrelhim’s prime minister, Ezrul Galdenbloum. From Thaddeus’ plantation house in a Flock state, they all gather in secret to try and decide the next election.

The heroes are somewhat networked themselves, but find themselves uniting for a common cause to prevent a newly elected president Thaddeus from declaring war on the entire world and breaking the line between church and state. Ljokii, a young journalist and monk in training going for his degree and working for a Herd aligned publication, is one of the heroes of the story, along with his friends Kelyis and Jorde, form one group, while a W.B.A.N humanitarian named Dhabeia and a few of her coworkers find themselves cast into the conflict around them. The socialist group Daiyjal, run by a reincarnated Xeol and his allies, also plays into the events around them, and a separate ancient evil arises as well to take back the world from the Kingdom above, through a group of unaware demons that are being manipulated.

Ljokii and the rest of the Herd aligned characters see the twisted conflicts between the corrupted nations and are drawn into a cause that will help bring about a one world government that will supposedly eliminate this warfare.

As the reader learns about these various characters and their relationships to one another, It becomes difficult to decide who they would want to succeed the world.

Will the individuals of the Flock or the Herd succeed? Or will it be entities outside of the political spectrum that will take the world in a new direction? Nonetheless, a postponed conflict will begin anew…
